At the present time the property is inaccessible. We have had monsoon rains and the private road is washed out in several places.
Rick's Place is about 4 miles from the county maintained road, which means the 4 miles of private road has to be privately maintained. This is very common in this county where people live off grid. We were aware of this, we just didn't think the road would be such a pressing issue so soon.
The long term solution for the road would involve having Rick's Place own the equipment required for road maintenance. If Rick's Place had the equipment, one of the women could hop on it once in a while to keep the road maintained. We could solicit funds from neighbors to help with that. I think one or more of the women would be jazzed to hop on a dozer and go do road work for a day.
The equipment we have in mind to buy is a used serviceable backhoe. This machine can also be used for building projects on the property.
